UDA Confident After Strong Press Brief on Emurua Dikirr Victory

Party says the people have reaffirmed trust in President William Ruto’s leadership and the Bottom-Up agenda

By Evans Muguna

The ruling party, United Democratic Alliance, today issued a powerful press brief following the highly contested Emurua Dikirr by-election, declaring the outcome as a major political victory for President William Ruto and the Kenya Kwanza administration.

Speaking during the press briefing shared through the party’s official communication platforms, UDA leaders praised residents of Emurua Dikirr for turning out in large numbers and showing confidence in the government’s development agenda. The party described the win as a clear message that wananchi still believe in the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda despite growing political competition across theu country.

The by-election attracted national attention after the death of former area MP Johana Ng’eno earlier this year. The constituency became a battleground between UDA and opposition-linked candidates, with campaigns intensifying in the final days before voting.

UDA officials stated that the victory was not just about numbers, but about the continued connection between the ruling party and ordinary Kenyans. According to the leaders, the people of Emurua Dikirr chose development, stability, and continuity over divisive politics.

During the press brief, party officials also dismissed claims made by rivals regarding the conduct of the election, insisting the exercise was peaceful, transparent, and reflected the democratic will of the voters. They further congratulated the party candidate, David Keter, for what they termed as a disciplined and issue-based campaign focused on roads, youth empowerment, agriculture, and economic growth.

Political analysts view the Emurua Dikirr outcome as an important test for UDA ahead of future by-elections and the 2027 political landscape. The constituency has remained politically significant in Narok County, with over 44,000 registered voters spread across four wards.

The ruling party also used the press briefing to thank grassroots supporters, campaign teams, youth mobilizers, and security agencies for ensuring a calm electoral process. Leaders urged Kenyans to remain united after the election period and focus on national development.

The victory now strengthens UDA’s grip in the region and gives President Ruto’s allies renewed momentum as political alignments continue taking shape across the country.

Budget estimates indicate a planned expenditure of KSh 4.24 trillion against projected revenues of KSh 3.32 trillion—leaving a worrying deficit of KSh 876.1 billion. The government intends to cover this gap through domestic borrowing, pushing Kenya’s public debt beyond KSh 11.35 trillion. But beyond the numbers lies a bigger concern: Are we spending on the right priorities? ⚠️ Mounting Debt, Shrinking Services The Okoa Uchumi Campaign warns that the new Finance Bill 2025 does not adequately address the reckless government spending habits. Instead of realigning resources toward crucial services, the bill appears to favor tax privileges for elite players while placing a heavier burden on ordinary Kenyans. Key proposals include: Raising tax-exempt per diem allowances for senior officials fr...
